Google posts: what to publish so it is worth the effort
Three formats that work for a local business, and one that wastes your time.

Posts on a listing expire after a week and build no archive. That changes how to approach them: freshness matters, history does not.
What works
A concrete offer with a deadline, something new in the range, and an operational change such as new hours or extra parking. Anything that answers "is it worth coming this week". a complete listing.

What does not
Quotes, seasonal greetings and posts about nothing. They occupy the slot, give no reason to visit and earn no clicks.
How often
One good post a week is enough. Frequency matters far less than whether the post gives a concrete reason to act.
A listing post has one job: answer why someone should come now.
Frequently asked
- Do posts affect ranking?
- Not directly, but they raise engagement on the profile, which signals an active business.
